🌿 SMCR Aspiring Scientist Award
The SMCR Aspiring Scientist Award recognizes and encourages young postgraduate scholars and early-stage researchers who exhibit strong academic excellence and promising potential for future contributions to the field of Mathematics, Computational Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, and allied disciplines. This award serves as an early recognition platform to motivate young talents toward scientific inquiry, innovation, and academic leadership.
Eligibility
| Open to Postgraduate students (M.Sc./M.Tech./M.A.) – Final Year and Ph.D. (First Year) students in Mathematics, Computational Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, and allied disciplines. |
| Applicants must demonstrate high academic merit, research aptitude, and commitment to scientific growth. |
| Applicant must hold Lifetime Membership of SMCR before applying. |
Selection Criteria
| 1. Percentage in Undergraduate (UG) Program. |
| 2. Percentage in Postgraduate (PG) Program. |
| 3. Qualification or Performance in National Examinations – such as NET, GATE, or JRF. |
| 4. Research Potential – Statement of Purpose (SOP) or brief write-up on research interests and future goals. |
| 5. Academic Achievements – Awards, scholarships, or distinctions relevant to the discipline. |
Award Benefits
| Feature in the SMCR Annual Report and Official Website. |
| Priority for participation in SMCR workshops, conferences, and training programs designed for emerging researchers. |
General Guidelines
| Open exclusively to Life Members of SMCR. |
| There is no application fee for applying for the awards. The awards will be given purely based on the evaluation parameters as decided by the Selection Committee. |
| Awardees will receive a Recognition Certificate and will be featured in the SMCR Annual Report and Website. |
Application Procedure
| 1. Obtain Lifetime Membership of SMCR before applying. |
| 2. Fill out the online Google Form and provide all required details accurately. |
| 3. Upload supporting documents including mark sheets, certificates, and proof of NET/GATE/JRF qualifications (if applicable). |
| 4. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will not be considered. |
Terms & Conditions
| Awards are open only to Life Members of SMCR. |
| Each applicant may apply for only one award per year and must submit before the specified deadline. |
| No correspondence regarding the selection process will be entertained. |
| Incomplete or improperly filled applications will not be accepted. |
| Applicants not fully matching the criteria may be considered for a more appropriate category, with consent. |
| Any false or misleading information will result in disqualification and possible revocation of awards. |
| The decision of SMCR shall be final and binding. The Society reserves the right to present or withhold awards without providing reasons. |
